Established in 2007, Al Khat Web is a purpose-built newspaper printing company in Shuwaiba. The 9,500 square meter facility was designed with logistical work flow in mind to ensure that the actual printing process met international safety standards and yielded the highest levels of quality and efficiency.

The press is equipped with the latest, tested newspaper printing equipment available in the world including the American made Tensor Printing machine. This advanced machine consists of 15 towers, each capable of printing 4 full color pages at one time, 60 full color pages in total, and up to 68 pages between colored and black and white simultaneously.

Al Khat Packaging

Based on market intelligence conducted in the mid-2000s,

Al Khat Printing Press noticed the potential in the local and regional need for specialty printing, particularly in the area of packaging.

As a result, in 1999 the company made the decision to expand the already successful operations within the press. 10,000 square meter of space in Shuwaiba, supported by 5,000 square meter storage, was secured and developed specifically for printing packaging materials. Safety and efficiency measures were incorporated into the facility layout to maximize productivity and performance.

An investment was also made in equipment, upgrading existing equipment where possible and purchasing new machines to meet increasingly technical packaging specifications.
